Our Legacy: 136 Years of Community, Courage & Success
Founded in 1889, the Scottsdale Football Club (SFC) has been a pillar of sport, community and identity in northeast Tasmania for more than a century. Since entering the NTFA in 1948, SFC has built one of the richest histories in Tasmanian football, including:
- 12 NTFA Premierships
- 1 NTFL Premiership (1989)
- State Premiership (1973) – an undefeated team later inducted into the AFL Tasmania Hall of Fame
- Inaugural TSL North Women’s Premiership (2017)
Across generations, the Magpies have brought pride to the northeast, developing leaders, athletes and lifelong community members both on and off the field.
Today, SFC remains the largest sporting organisation in the region, proudly fielding:
- 4 senior teams in the NTFA Premier Division
- 8 junior teams in the NTJFA
- 30+ Auskick participants each year
More than 350 players, 300 financial members, 70 life members, and over 1500 supporters call SFC home.
Why We Need Your Support in 2026
As we enter the next chapter in the NTFA Premier Division, the demands on our facilities, equipment, volunteer resources, and player development programs have never been higher.
Our goal for 2026 is clear:
Support our athletes, strengthen our facilities, and build a club that can succeed for the next 100 years.
Funds raised in this campaign will support:
✔ Player Expenses & Development
- Travel, equipment and medical costs
- Training programs
- Junior development pathways
- Women’s football expansion
- Coaching development & accreditation
✔ Club Facilities Upgrades
- Ongoing improvements to our uni-sex change rooms
- Additional upgrades to the bar, gym space & clubroom
- Maintenance and renewal of training equipment
- Accessibility and safety improvements
- Long-term capital works planning
Over the past five years, the Club has invested more than $350,000 into facility improvements — but with rising costs, expanding participation, and increased competition, 2026 is a critical year to reinvest and secure our future.
Our Vision for the Future
The SFC Strategic Plan outlines a strong and ambitious future:
On-Field Goal
- Finals football within 3 years
- A Premiership within 5 years
Off-Field Goal
- Grow into one of Tasmania’s strongest community sports hubs
- Lead inclusion, diversity & community engagement in the region
- Build a resilient volunteer network
- Continue developing high-quality facilities for all ages & abilities
Your support today helps us achieve these goals tomorrow.
