Help Me Take My Next Shift

My name is Shaden, and I am a Filipina-Australian ice hockey player, coach and long-time community contributor.

I am raising funds to support my continued participation in ice hockey, including equipment, ice time, training-related expenses, travel, accommodation and other sport-related costs.

Ice hockey has been part of my life since I was 11 years old. Over the years, it has given me community, purpose, resilience, lifelong friendships and a strong sense of belonging.

Born in the Philippines and raised in Australia, ice hockey has also become an important part of my identity. It has allowed me to connect with both my Australian and Filipino heritage and to be part of a growing community of athletes from non-traditional ice hockey backgrounds.

Sport has played an important role throughout my life… not only through competition, but through connection, structure, purpose and community. I remain involved in ice hockey in ways that are meaningful and appropriate for me, while continuing to contribute through my experience as an athlete, coach and community member.

Ice hockey is a high-cost sport, and the expenses associated with participation can be significant. Funds raised will help reduce this financial pressure and support my continued involvement in the sport in a sustainable way.

Your support will help me remain connected to the game, continue contributing to the ice hockey community and share my journey with others who may not have always seen themselves, their backgrounds or the way their minds work represented in sport.
