ABOUT Shakirra Davis

Ripley, QLD

As many of you know I have been selected to represent Australia at the upcoming ICU World Championships in Orlando Florida this April. This is a massive accomplishment and I am so proud and excited for this opportunity. Cheerleading has been my passion for as long as I can remember and I can’t wait to compete against athletes from all over the world on the biggest stage there is.

In 2022 illness took over and I had to give up the sport I loved. After many specialist visits and tests I was diagnosed with a variety of conditions, a prolapsed mitral valve, Sjögren’s disease, POTS, coeliac disease, Raynaud’s disease, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, dysautonomia and chronic migraines.

I worked hard on my own and with my doctors over the years to regain the strength to join a cheer team again. I tried out and got into a world’s team. I have travelled across Australia to attend training camps and pushed myself when my body wanted to give up.

This trip has significant costs and has been entirely self funded, working multiple jobs and saving to try and make my dream a reality,

now I’m asking for your help by making a tax deductible donation.

I have to purchase my own training uniforms, performance costumes, competition fees, travel and airfares, accomodation, training fees, and all the other fun stuff that comes with overseas travel - insurance etc.

Every donation is greatly appreciated no matter the amount. 💚💛
