Shoalhaven Little Athletics is looking to purchase timing gates for our upcoming season, in response to overwhelming support from our 2024/25 season member survey.

Timing gates are wireless gates that sit at the finish line of an athletics track, and electronically time individual lanes. The purchase of these gates will allow our small number of volunteers to more efficiently manage our club nights, streamline our results and recording systems, and provide higher quality events for Little Athletics competitions in the Illawarra/Shoalhaven/South Coast regions.

Unfortunately, they come at a significant cost (Roughly $16,000) for a volunteer lead, regional community athletics club - as they require hardware, software and infrastructure purchases to run. Thus, fundraising is necessary to make this dream a reality.

Our ultimate aim is to raise the level of enjoyment for these athletes, whilst simultaneously providing competition standards equivalent to larger metropolitan clubs. Based on our member survey, timing gates are a key step in this plan and we aim to raise enough money to make this purchase within 6 months.
