Hi, I’m Sonya Newman — a proud mum of two, a 19-year Australian Army Veteran, an above-knee amputee, and an Invictus Games athlete.

I’m beyond honoured to share that I’ve been selected to represent Australia at the 2025 Women’s Para Ice Hockey World Championships in Slovakia — the first time ever an Australian women’s para team will compete at this level on the world stage!

This is a dream come true… but it’s also a self-funded journey.

As para athletes, we cover the costs of travel, accommodation, uniforms, training camps, and equipment ourselves — and that’s why I’m asking for your support.
