My name is Sophia Webb, and I’m incredibly proud to have been selected in the first-ever Australian U16 Girls Rugby 7s team heading to Florida, USA in 2026.

    ABOUT Sophia Webb

    Sophia has been given an incredible opportunity to travel to Florida in March 2026 as part of the first-ever Australian U16 and U18 Girls Rugby 7s teams.

    These teams will compete at the prestigious Tropical 7s — the largest youth rugby sevens tournament in the United States. This marks a historic moment, as it will be the first time female rugby players from Australia take part in the event.

    But this is more than just a tournament — it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Sophia and her teammates will have the chance to showcase their talent on an international stage, learn from elite players, and take part in the tournament’s combine, where US Rugby scouts identify rising stars for high school and college scholarships. With over 200 teams competing, the Tropical 7s offers unmatched exposure and a unique pathway to help these young athletes take their rugby careers to the next level.


    Tour Objectives and Goals:

    • Developing opportunities and experiences for players: fundraising, skills, teamwork, and cultural exposure.

    • Fostering team bonding, team spirit and personal growth; and

    • Creating memorable life events for our players, tour volunteers, coaches and parents.

    • Sunday March 29 - 2026 - Rest Day / Recovery Day | Shopping @ Brandon Exchange
    • Monday March 30 - 2026 - Training AM | Busch Gardens Theme Park - Hilton Tampa Brandon
    •  Tuesday March 31 - 2026 - Training AM | Clearwater Beach Afternoon - Hilton Tampa Brandon
    • Wednesday April 01 - 2026 - Warm Up Game vs Tropical 7’s Academy AM | Recovery & Sightseeing & Professional Sports Match (NBA, NHL or MLB) 
    • Thursday April 02 - 2026 -  US Rugby / US Colleges Talent Combine AM | Recovery & Sightseeing Night 6 - Tampa Brandon
