Meet Sophie, a 16 year old cheerleader who is not only passionate about cheerleading & dance but also redefining what’s possible for people with disabilities. Living with Cerebral Palsy, Sophie has overcome many physical and emotional challenges to pursue her dreams in cheerleading. Through dedication, resilience and hard work she has earned the amazing opportunity to represent Australia on the world stage for the 2nd time.

Selected to represent Australia in the Adaptive Abilities Unified division, Sophie will travel to Orlando, Florida in April 2026 to compete against athletes from around the world. Whilst in Florida, Sophie will also be representing her club, Elite Cheer at the Allstar World Championships.

This journey is not just about cheerleading, it’s about inclusion, empowerment and breaking barriers. Being involved in this team has opened up new opportunities, created many strong bonds and increased Sophie’s confidence in her abilities.

Sophie has been saving for this trip herself, working in a food truck that supports young people with disabilities but without additional support she will not be able to make her dreams a reality.
