Sophie Sutton, a current U23 road, track and cyclocross rider with ambitions to race and compete at the Elite level overseas.

A bit about me:

I began cycling at the age of 8 and instantly fell in love with the sport — and I’ve never looked back. I enjoy every aspect of cycling, from training hard for an event, to the nerves at the start line, the adrenaline of competition, and the satisfaction of achieving goals. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to reach some major milestones, and my passion for the sport continues to grow.

In 2024, I was selected for the Australian Cycling Team to race at the U23 Cyclocross World Championships in the Czech Republic, as well as a World Cup event in the Netherlands. Later that year, I raced for a criterium team in the USA, spending several months abroad training and competing in some of the fastest and most demanding crits in the world.

This year (2025) began with my first UCI road tour in Thailand — a significant step forward in my development as a road cyclist. However, for the remainder of the season, I currently have no solid overseas racing plans. As is the case for many athletes, the financial burden of international competition falls largely on the rider. This makes it incredibly challenging to continue pursuing the dream of racing professionally on the world stage.

I’m reaching out for support to help me continue chasing this goal — for the rest of 2025 and into 2026. Any contribution would go directly towards essential costs such as flights, accommodation, insurance, and race expenses. This support would give me the opportunity to gain exposure in Europe and increase my chances of being selected by a professional team — a vital step in my development and progression as a young athlete.
