Building More Than a Scoreboard

Every week, more than 800 players, volunteers, coaches, parents and supporters come together at Mill Park Lakes Reserve.

For some, it's their first kick of a football.

For others, it's their first game of netball.

For many, it's where lifelong friendships begin.

South Morang Football Netball Club has grown into one of the largest community sporting clubs in Melbourne's north. Today, we proudly field 24 junior football teams, including six girls' teams, 11 junior netball teams, five senior netball teams and three senior football teams.

Our club is built on inclusion.

Children of every ability pull on the same colours.

Families from across our diverse community find a place where everyone belongs.

But while our people have grown, our facilities have not kept pace.

Every weekend, hundreds of players and thousands of spectators gather at Mill Park Lakes Reserve. The demand on our grounds continues to increase, yet essential infrastructure remains missing.

Simple improvements would make a remarkable difference.

Behind-goal safety netting would keep games flowing, improve player safety and reduce disruptions caused by footballs leaving the playing area.

An electronic scoreboard on the synthetic oval would transform the experience for players, families and visitors alike. It would create a true match-day atmosphere, improve visibility for spectators and provide a facility that reflects the standard of competition played at our ground.

These aren't luxury items.

They are investments in a community that continues to grow.

Every child deserves to play on facilities they can be proud of.

Every volunteer deserves equipment that supports the countless hours they give.

Every family deserves a venue that feels welcoming, safe and capable of hosting the next generation of community sport.
