The Executive of Southern Districts Car Club have approved the creation of an Australian Sports Foundation project for the build and fit out of SDCC Junior Development Program Training and Multi-purpose shed.The aim is to raise $23,290.00 to complete this project and we are seeking members and businesses to donate to this worthwhile project.This will provide an all-weather area that will enable training and other functions associated with motorsport activities to be able to be conducted all year round.  Southern Districts Car Club Junior Development Program commenced in 2005 with over 600 young drivers benefitted from it since inception. With SDCC purchasing Mid Murray Motorplex in 2014 it has been a long-term goal to improve our JDP with the construction of an all-weather training area. We now feel that the time is now to act on this aim.After initial discussions it was decided that a larger multi-purpose shed would be of greater benefit to the facilities at MMM. The size and configuration considered for this shed will be of benefit to SDCC JDP and SDCC motorsport events and also to the motorsport community of South Australia. During the motorsport events conducted at MMM, this multi-purpose shed will be utilised for pre-event administration and documentation checking along with scrutiny and eligibility compliance checking of competing vehicles, all under cover.Once completed, with its size and the additional benefits provided by the property itself, we envisage that it will be an excellent venue for motorsport fire and rescue training along with an area in which local fire and rescue organisations could conduct worthwhile training.All money raised will ensure completion of this worthwhile project, so we are seeking members and businesses to donate to the build and fit out of the SDCC JDP training shed. This will also assist SDCC in the improvement and development of other facilities at MMM as normal fundraising can be used on these projects.
