ABOUT SRV Baseball Australia Inc
SRV Baseball Australia Inc. is launching the Female Baseball Development and Coaching Pathways Program — an initiative designed to increase female participation and leadership in baseball across the North Brisbane region.
The program will focus on pitching, hitting, fielding, catching, and overall game awareness. Each month will feature a different technical focus, led by accredited coaches under SRV Baseball’s structured athlete development framework.
This initiative is designed not only to build the next generation of female players but also to establish a sustainable female coaching pathway. The program actively encourages current players, former players, mothers of junior athletes, and female volunteers to take part in tailored coach development sessions. These sessions will provide foundational understanding of baseball technique, safety, communication, and player management, equipping participants with the confidence and skills to become effective junior coaches in their local clubs.
Collaboration and Expertise
SRV Baseball Australia is building this program in collaboration with female baseball leaders and development programs in Canada, a country globally recognised for its success in growing women’s baseball. Through these international connections, we will access valuable insights, coaching frameworks, and mentorship models that have been proven effective in supporting female athletes and coaches.
This collaboration allows us to integrate best-practice approaches from Canadian female baseball programs into our own structure — helping ensure that SRV Baseball’s Female Development and Coaching Pathways Program provides a high-quality, evidence-based experience for participants.
These partnerships will also open opportunities for ongoing knowledge exchange, guest coaching sessions, and potential joint initiatives, strengthening both our local impact and international ties in women’s baseball development.
Project Purpose and Impact
Baseball remains a predominantly male-coached sport in Australia, with few visible pathways for women to step into coaching or leadership roles. SRV Baseball Australia aims to change that by:
- Expanding female participation in structured baseball programs.
- Creating a clear entry pathway for female coaches through mentorship, workshops, and practical on-field learning.
- Improving gender balance across local baseball coaching ranks.
- Building community capacity by engaging parents, volunteers, and former athletes.
- Providing inclusive and accessible training opportunities that remove cost barriers for girls and women.
The program supports the broader goals of female empowerment, equality in sport, and the development of healthy, active communities.
