ABOUT Stanley Crawford
Help Stanley Take the Next Step in His Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Journey
At 13 years old, Stanley has already found something he is truly passionate about — Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ).
Since beginning his competitive journey in 2022, Stanley has competed in 25 competitions and recorded 38 wins, progressing from local competitions to state, national and high-level events.
Stanley’s Journey
Stanley also faces challenges outside the competition mat. He has a significant vision impairment, which affects his ability to see clearly.
BJJ is a sport that relies heavily on visual information, movement and reaction. Despite the additional challenges his vision creates, Stanley has continued to train, compete and challenge himself against athletes who don’t face the same limitations.
There have been both wins and losses along the way. The losses can be difficult, but Stanley continues to return to training, learn from each experience and work towards becoming a better athlete.
Some of his major achievements include:
- 🥇 Queensland State Champion — 2023
- 🥇 Queensland State Champion — 2024
- 🥇 Australian National Champion — 2025
- 🥇 ADCC Trials — 2026
- 🏆 38 competition wins
- 25 competition entries since 2022
The Next Step
In 2026, Stanley will compete at the Pan Pacific Kids Championship in Melbourne and the ADCC Korea Open in South Korea in December.
These competitions are important steps in his development as he works towards his long-term goal of competing at the IBJJF World Championship in 2027.
Competing at this level comes with significant costs, including competition fees, travel, accommodation and other expenses associated with training and preparing for major events.
Why We’re Fundraising
We are fundraising specifically to help support Stanley’s BJJ journey and the costs associated with his sporting opportunities.
