ABOUT Strathmore Pickleball Inc
Strathmore Pickleball is a joint venture between the Strathmore Bowls Club and Strathmore Tennis Club to develop and build four pickleball courts on a vacant green situated on the south-west Loeman St boundary of the Bowls Club.
The Bowls Club and the Tennis Club are undertaking this large infrastructure project to benefit the whole community, which we have been a part of for more than 70 years.
Once opened, Strathmore Pickleball will run as a not-for-profit organisation, offering casual rental and membership rates around 50% lower than comparable commercial operations, as well as and twice-weekly community sessions to introduce new players to the game.
Funding: The Bowls Club and Tennis Club have committed up to $60,000 to the project, as well as future fundraising of about another $60,000. We have applied for grants to match these funds to cover the project’s estimated cost of $240,000.
Timeline: If our funding goals are met, we’re hoping to sign building contracts in October/November this year, with the opening of the Strathmore Pickleball courts in Feb/March 2027.
