ABOUT Suren Derakhshi
For Suren, football has never been just a sport — it has been his dream since he was three years old, kicking a ball around Melbourne. Over more than a decade, Suren has developed through elite academies and competitions across Australia and internationally. Through dedication, sacrifice, and countless hours of training, that childhood passion has become a serious football pathway.
Today, Suren is part of the Melbourne City FC Academy and has already earned international recognition, including winning the Golden Boot at the International Singa Cup in Singapore (2024). His talent has also been recognised through the Pathway Project, where he was identified and invited to attend a development opportunity with Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, along with other European trial opportunities.
Suren recently turned 14 and has achieved several significant milestones, including:
⚽ Golden Boot – International Singa Cup Tournament, Singapore (2024)
⚽ Queensland State Representative – U12 National Championships
⚽ Australian National Champion with Queensland
⚽ Top Goal Scorer at the National Championships
⚽ Multiple Player of the Year and MVP awards
⚽ Selected to represent Victoria in the U15 Emerging Socceroos Championships
Most recently, Suren has been selected to represent Victoria in the U15 Emerging Socceroos Championships in Sydney (April 2026) — an important step within Australia’s national football development pathway.
However, opportunities at this level come with significant costs. Without support, Suren may miss key opportunities that could shape his future in professional football. With the support of the community, supporters, and sponsors, we hope to help Suren continue pursuing his dream of progressing through the A-League pathway, representing Australia at youth national level, and building a professional football career.
Why We Need Support
Developing as an elite youth footballer involves significant costs. While our family has always done everything possible to support Suren’s dream, we are currently facing financial challenges that make it difficult to continue funding all the opportunities available to him.
Typical annual expenses include:
• Academy registration and development program fees
• Interstate tournaments and national championships
• International development opportunities
• Travel and accommodation
• Strength and conditioning programs and gym training
• Specialist coaching and performance support
• Nutrition and recovery programs
• Equipment and training gear
Without additional support, Suren may have to miss important opportunities that are critical for his development and exposure.
Through the Australian Sports Foundation, donations are tax-deductible in Australia and directly support Suren’s development pathway.
Your support will help ensure that Suren can continue pursuing his dream of one day playing professional football and representing Australia.
