Sydney Coastal Cricket Club has faced increasing financial and operational pressures. Rising ground hire, equipment, insurance and affiliation fees have placed strain on a club that prioritises affordability for families. Additional challenges include access to grounds particularly with other sports requiring fields for their pre season training within the existing cricket season, net hire and storage costs, volunteer capacity and resources. Despite these pressures, we have remained committed to ensuring no child misses out on playing cricket due to cost or circumstance.

Our club relies heavily on volunteers, many of whom juggle full-time work, family commitments and multiple roles within the club. Despite limited resources, these volunteers consistently go above and beyond to ensure games go ahead each week. We also have families who make significant sacrifices to keep their children involved in sport and players who have faced setbacks such as injury or missing seasons due to external pressures. Their resilience and commitment embody the true spirit of community cricket.

Raising funds would allow Sydney Coastal to reinvest directly into grassroots cricket. Funding would support Blast Skills, Blast Comp and junior development programs, purchase shared training equipment, subsidise player fees for families in need and improve facilities and safety equipment. Importantly, it would ease the financial burden on volunteers and families, enabling us to focus on what matters most, creating positive cricket experiences and growing the game in our community.
