ABOUT Talia Chambers
Hi, I’m a 22 year old road cyclist from Canberra. Alongside racing, I study computing part time at the Australian National University (ANU) and work as a gymnastics coach and driver.
In 2026 I’ve been given the opportunity to race with the Cycling Development Foundation (CDF) across a domestic and international calendar, including the ProVelo Super League, the Oceania Road Championships, and Europe. While the team covers a significant portion of racing costs, road cycling at the elite level is extremely expensive. Travel, accommodation, race entries, equipment and logistics all add up quickly. To keep progressing toward the highest level of the sport, I need not only to train hard but also to race frequently against strong fields, which is something that’s difficult to fund alone.
Sport has always been a big part of my life. I grew up playing basketball and also tried gymnastics, dance, swimming, field hockey, and cross country. In high school, I was selected for cross country nationals and realised I enjoyed running, but recurring injuries eventually stopped me. At the end of high school, my dad suggested I try triathlon, since I already had a swimming background and just needed to learn to ride a road bike. I started cycling for triathlon, but more running injuries pushed me toward bike racing, which I really enjoyed. I began riding more, entered local road races, and joined bunch rides, where I discovered I had a decent climbing ability. In 2024, I decided to focus on cycling as my main sport.
In just two years of dedicated training and racing, I’ve made significant progress, including 2nd at Esports Nationals (2025), racing overseas in Belgium, 12th overall at Tour of Bright (2025) in a very strong field, 11th gc in the Tour of Tasmania (2026), making front groups in hilly ProVelo league stages and winning both the U23 and Elite ACT Road Championships (2025) by nearly two minutes on a course I had been dropped and finished last on by 20 minutes two years earlier. I’m still early in my cycling journey and motivated to see how far I can go.
Any support will go directly toward travel to interstate and international races, accommodation and race logistics, equipment and maintenance, and race entry and team costs. Every contribution helps me gain the race experience needed to keep developing and chasing bigger goals in the sport.
I’m incredibly grateful for any support, whether that’s donating, sharing this page, or following along with my season. I love the process of training, racing and improving, and I’m excited to see where this journey can go and I can't do it without the help of some amazing supporters. Thank you for being part of it!🚴
