Tamar Canoe Club along with financial assistance from the Active Tasmania Infastructure Grants program,Meander Valley and West Tamar Councils are developing an area at Blackstone to create a safe,year-round venue for canoe polo,slalom and community paddeling.

Funds raised from this program will directly support its development,benefiting athletes,schools and ourdoor enthusiasts.

This project will create canoe polo playing fields (23m x 35m) and a flatwater slalom training space on Lake Trevallyn at the Blackstone Park inlet. As well as goals, boundary lines and slalom gates it includes constructing new access paths, embankments and umpiring space, water access ramps, as well as boat and gear laydown space. The project will also cater for kayaking, swimming, stand up paddleboarding, and other active on water activities.
