ABOUT Tarrington Community Park
The Tarrington Community Park Committee oversees management of the Tarrington Community Park. The facilities currently include an oval used for cricket by the Tarrington Cricket Club and Hamilton District Cricket Association. New cricket nets have been installed within the last 5 years but the priority now is to raise money for new changerooms and new tennis and netball/basketball courts.
The Tarrington Sport and Community Centre is envisioned as a multi-use, inclusive facility that caters to a variety of sport and community groups. The design prioritizes a multi-purpose building, large enough for both sports and functions. The highest priority under the Tarrington Structure Plan and Tarrington Community Plan is the development of this new facility. The current facilities are inadequate for a fast-growing cricket club and Tournament events and other user groups. The current facility has no change rooms, toilets, or a kitchen and female cricket players currently get changed in their cars.
We are seeking $1 million to bring this vision to life, with a fundraising target of $100,000. Your support will help create a space that truly serves the needs of the Tarrington community, fostering connection, inclusivity, and creating a healthier and more active community. We believe that with your help, the Tarrington Community Centre can become a vibrant hub of sport, community activity and interaction.
