ABOUT Taryn Gollshewsky
I am the current Australian and Oceania champion in Discus. I have represented Australia at 3 Commonwealth Games, 3 World Championships and the Paris Olympics.
I live in the regional town of Bundaberg, Queensland and am a Physical Education Teacher. I take great pride in being an example to regional children, proving that it is possible to live in a rural town and be an elite athlete. If I can achieve my dreams, you can too!
I am currently chasing selection in the 2026 Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow, Scotland. With the rising cost of living, it is becoming increasingly harder to make ends meet. I work 4 days per week as a teacher (training before and after school), and travel to competitions most weekends.
The Australian domestic season is wrapping up, so International travel is now on the cards. I have two big trips coming up, 1 week in America and a weekend in Japan, which are self-funded. I’m seeking support for those competitions, as flights are $5000 for each trip.
