    ABOUT The Arthur Beetson Foundation

    The foundation was established by the Beetson family to honor the legacy of Arthur Beetson, a pioneering Indigenous rugby league player and coach. The ABF aims to empower Indigenous communities by promoting participation in sports and providing support for grassroots initiatives. It collaborates with organizations like the Queensland Rugby League (QRL) and the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) to achieve its objectives 


    Key Programs and Events

    1. Murri Rugby League Carnival: The ABF manages this annual event, which serves as a platform for Indigenous rugby league teams in Queensland. The carnival aims to increase the representation of Indigenous players in the National Rugby League and create a drug and alcohol-free environment for participants 
    2. Future Immortals Tour: This initiative involves former rugby league greats engaging with local communities to inspire young players and raise funds for community support. The tour focuses on addressing key social issues while promoting the sport 
    3. Community Engagement: The foundation actively works to build relationships with Indigenous communities, providing opportunities for participation in rugby league and other activities that foster personal development and community cohesion
