I’m Thomas King Koi, a Brisbane based Canoe Polo athlete who has been selected to represent Australia in the Senior Men’s Team at the 2026 ICF Canoe Polo World Championships in Duisburg, Germany from 15–20 September.

I have been playing Canoe Polo since 2014, representing Queensland nearly every year and Australia at multiple Oceania competitions. In 2023, I was also honoured to captain the Australian Men’s U21 B Team. Being selected for the Senior Men’s Team is one of the proudest achievements of my sporting career and represents years of training, sacrifice and commitment.

I am raising funds to help cover the cost of competing internationally, including flights, accommodation, competition fees and equipment. As a self-funded athlete with no sponsorship or external financial support, these costs place a significant personal burden on me.

This opportunity matters because it allows me to represent Australia, my sport and my local Brisbane community on the world stage. I also hope to give back by mentoring younger Canoe Polo players and showing local athletes what is possible through dedication and persistence.

With community support, I will be able to take my place on the national team and proudly represent Australia in Germany.
