My name is Thomas Papas, and I’ve been selected to represent Australia at the 2025 IIHF U20 Ice Hockey World Championships this January, an honour I’ve worked toward every single day since I first stepped onto the ice.

Wearing the green and gold on the world stage is more than a tournament, it’s the chance to push my limits, make my country proud, and turn years of early mornings, late night trainings, and constant sacrifices into something truly meaningful.

Ice hockey in Australia is completely self-funded. I need to cover travel, accommodation, and tournament costs, the costs add up fast. I’ve balanced school, training, and living away from home to earn this jersey. Now I just need the final push to get me there.
