ABOUT Tigers FC
Tigers FC is one of the newer clubs in Canberra. The club has historical ties to Cooma Football Club, which was formed in the rural NSW town in 1952 by workers on the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme. Following the completion of the project, founding members relocated to Canberra leading the formation of the club.
The Tigers FC Men’s NPL team were Capital Football premiership winners in 2021. Tigers FC were winners of the CF Federation Cup in 2019 and 2021. Last season, Tigers FC was the champion in the NPL Mens First Grade. The NPL Boys teams finished in the top half of their respective leagues.
For the last two years, the club had focused on the girls teams. From one girls team in 2024 to three in 2025—and six planned for 2026—Tigers FC is actively supporting Football Australia’s objective to increase female participation in football.
In 2025, the girls teams had a standout season. Our U16 Girls were crowned Premiers and Champions in the Capital Football Junior League Division 1. Along with strong performances from our U14 Girls, Tigers FC finished top of the Junior League Girls Club Championship and we have applied for promotion to the Capital Football National Premier League Girls (NPLG) in 2026. Our U12s also showed significant development and enthusiasm for the game, laying a strong foundation for future growth. In 2026, Tigers FC intend to field six girls teams across SAP, Junior League and NPLG.
