    ABOUT Toorak Prahran Cricket Club

    Moorabbin, VIC

In 2010 the Toorak Prahran Cricket Club established the Toorak Prahran C.C Community Fund (Fund) to provide increased opportunities for these children to participate in organised sport within the local community.

The focus of the Fund is to provide opportunities for financially and socially disadvantaged youth within the Prahran/Windsor area to participate in organised club based sporting programs as well as provide activities at the Horace Petty and Bangs Street housing complexes. In doing so we have increased the cultural and socio economic diversity of membership of sporting clubs within the area.

Currently we have had in excess of 2000 children participating in a variety of different programs. This number continues to increase as we broaden the scope of the programs available to the children. The participants range in age from six to sixteen and vary in ethnicity. Presently we have recent immigrants and longer term residents from India, S ud an, Morocco, Afghanistan, Turkey, the Pacific Island, Senegal and well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants. We are committed to ensuring opportunities for both boys and girls to equally participate in all aspects of the program.

To assist in raising funds, the Toorak Prahran Cricket Club registered the “TPCC Community Sports Program” with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF), enabling donations of $2.00 or more to be tax deductible. The financial statements of the fund are included in the TPCC annual report on our club website.
