ABOUT Trixie Chua
Trixie’s Story
Trixie is a young Aboriginal netballer working towards the next stage of her development in the sport she loves.
Last season she competed in Division 2 Under 13's and in 2026 has been talent identified by her new club. She has been training hard in their development academy, in anticipation of having a strong 2026 winter season.
Netball has is a very important part of Trixie’s life. It supports her confidence, resilience and sense of belonging. Trixie lives with Generalised Anxiety Disorder, and being involved in sport has been a positive and protective factor for her wellbeing. Training, team environments and mentorship provide structure, connection and a sense of purpose as she grows.
As a metro-based Aboriginal athlete, Trixie unfortunately does not qualify for many Indigenous sport programs that are designed specifically for regional and remote communities. Because of this, in 2025 we began to reach out to businesses to assist with costs associated with her development, including registrations, uniforms, specialist footwear, strength and conditioning, development programs, mentoring and wellbeing support.
We are deeply grateful for the community of supporters who have stepped forward to help make Trixie’s journey possible. Knowing that people believe in her and are willing to support her goals has had a powerful impact on her confidence and motivation.
Trixie is incredibly proud to represent her community and is committed to making the most of every opportunity as she continues to grow both as an athlete and as a young person.
