Varsity Derby League (VDL) is Canberra’s only all-gender roller derby league, founded in 2011 by a group of passionate skaters at the Australian National University. Originally formed as the ANU Roller Derby League, the organisation soon grew beyond the university community and became an incorporated association under its current name.

From the outset, VDL has fostered an inclusive and welcoming environment, where people of all identities and experience levels can participate - whether as skaters, officials, or community members. We are proud to offer a supportive space for personal growth, athletic development, and meaningful connection through roller derby.
