ABOUT Vida Halimian
I am Vida Halimian, a compound archer. I discovered archery at the age of 10, driven by a deep passion for the sport, and through years of dedication and perseverance I developed into an elite-level athlete. I represented the Iranian national archery team for more than 15 years, competing internationally for Iran on numerous occasions.
Throughout my career, I achieved multiple medals at international and Asian competitions, including a gold medal at the World University Championships and a medal at the 2011 World Championships. I also reached a career-high world ranking of 7th and was ranked among the top eight archers in the world, qualifying for the World Cup Final.
For the past three years, I have been living in Australia. Moving to a new country came with many challenges, from starting a new life and learning a new language to adapting to a completely different culture. During this journey, I was fortunate to meet incredible people at Northern Archers of Sydney Club, who supported, encouraged, and pushed me to continue my professional pathway and helped me rebuild my career, leading me back into the Australian archery system.
I never gave up. I stayed fully committed to my journey, trained with determination, and through hard work and resilience, I earned my place within Australian archery and progressed into the Australian national team pathway.
Today, I am proud to compete for Australia. My goal is to continue progressing at the highest level, represent Australia at the Olympic Games, and achieve further success on the international stage.
I am currently seeking support to continue my international competition journey and represent Australia at upcoming major events, including World Championships and Olympic qualification events.
Thank you for being part of my journey and for your support along the way.
I am a strong woman. I never give up, I never get tired of chasing my dreams, and I will continue pursuing them with everything I have until they become reality.
