Hi, my name is Vivienne “Raine” Oyrer. I’m 15 and in Year 10 at Eden Marine High School. I love the ocean, theatre, music, reading, ancient history, and finding new adventures.

This October, I’ve been selected as a mentor participant in the 2025 East Coast Youth Leadership Challenge aboard the tall ship Windeward Bound. This program, supported by Rotary, brings together young Australians, young refugees, and disadvantaged youth for a 10-day voyage of leadership, teamwork, and cross-cultural sharing. It’s described as “life-changing,” helping young people step away from screens to build confidence, resilience, and real connections.

I first fell in love with sailing last year through the CYC Sailing Program, where I trained and raced yachts in Sydney Harbour. The Windeward Bound voyage is the perfect next step for me to grow, challenge myself, and support others.

To take part, I need to fundraise $2,950 to cover my berth and only have $1,000 left to go. Any support helps me reach this goal and be part of something truly special. Thank you!
