ABOUT Wallagoot Lake Boat Club
Wallagoot Lake Boat Club is situated on the pristine shores of Wallagoot Lake in the Bournda National Park, Sapphire Coast NSW. Positioned between Tathra and Merimbula on the Sapphire Coast, this is the perfect getaway to experience sailing as it is intended to be. In nature with good friends and good company.
We are a grass roots club run by volunteers and enthusiastic members. Our major annual expenses are Insurances and Lease fees of land and boat ramp. Any money collected through donations will go diretly into these annual costs. Meeting these expenses continues to be the clubs biggest challenge, and any support in this area will be greatly appreciated.
Both monohulls and catamarans are sailed, with Sabres strongly represented with a competitive fleet sailing weekly. Our famous WLBC Regatta in March attracts a strong following with the club having hosted National and State Championships within the regatta on several occasions. Racing is held adjacent the club on the beautiful clear waters of Wallagoot and can be watched from the beach and the elevated vantage point of the clubhouse if weather turns sour.
Sailing takes place from the end of September to end of April, sailing two races each Saturday from 12:30pm. Sailing includes a Point score championship and a Handicap series raced as pursuit races as well as our exciting Sprint Series with 6 short 1 lap sprints completed each day over 3 weekends.
All visitors are welcome.
