Help Us Build a Family-Friendly Shooting and Crossbow Range

Wide Bay Shooting & Crossbow is a new, volunteer-run community sporting club located in Queensland between Maryborough and Hervey Bay.

We are raising funds to help construct a safe and compliant range for handgun, small-calibre rifle, shotgun and crossbow activities.

Our main priority is building the essential safety infrastructure, including compliant earth stop butts and side walls. These structures must be completed before the range can receive final approval and become operational. Because the property is located outside town, sourcing and transporting suitable clean fill has been difficult and expensive, significantly increasing the cost of construction.

Our club is about much more than shooting. We are a friendly, family-focused group that enjoys having fun, supporting one another and bringing people together. Many families and young children are already involved in our club activities, and we want to create a welcoming environment where the whole family can participate, learn new skills and enjoy spending time together.

We aim to create a safe, supervised and inclusive facility where people of different ages and abilities can learn responsible firearm and crossbow handling, participate in recreational and competitive events, and become part of a supportive local sporting community.

Once completed, the facility is also intended to include Queensland’s first dedicated crossbow range.

Every donation will go directly toward completing the earthworks and essential safety infrastructure required for the range to gain approval and open.
