    ABOUT Womens Recreational Fishing League

    Tuross Head, NSW

We exist to drive up women’s participation in recreational fishing from today’s 18 % to genuine parity. Your contribution fuels practical programs—skills clinics, local Crew Pods, junior pathways and leadership tracks—that turn curiosity into lifelong, confident participation.

    Why we care

Fishing itself is gender-neutral; the gap is cultural. When women pick up a rod they gain self-reliance, stress relief and a stronger sense of empowerment. Families share healthier time outdoors and our coastal and regional communities gain new economic and volunteer energy. Parity in our sport isn’t just fair — it’s good for everyone.

    How we’ll make it happen

WRFL has already built and tested the engine:

    • Explore → Belong → Grow → Compete → Excel — our Fishing Fast Track is active and rolling out across the country.
    • Crew Pods giving safe, local mentorship, nationwide.
    • Rec’ Fishing Fundamentals & Vocational Development online course provides practical and theoretical learning opportunities for all, no matter where or when they need it.
    • State-versus-state tournaments that inspire men to recruit more women, and enable women and children to compete with equal scoring potential in their state teams for national glory.
    • Every donation widens that pipeline — more Pods, more scholarships, more leaders, more capable and competitive female anglers.

    Who we are

The Women’s Recreational Fishing League is Australia’s only nationwide NFP dedicated solely to gender equity in recreational fishing.

Help us replace limiting beliefs with confident casts. Your tax-deductible gift ripples through families, communities and the waterways we all share.
