ABOUT zachery Farrell
My name is Zachery Farrell, and I’m a professional tennis player from Queensland, Australia, currently working to rebuild my career after one of the hardest periods of my life both physically and mentally. Earlier this year, I suffered a serious wrist injury when my car fell on my arm, tearing a ligament and causing nerve damage. Since then, I haven’t been able to work consistently through my landscaping business, which has made it extremely difficult to fund the overseas tournaments needed to continue competing professionally.
At the same time, I also faced setbacks in tennis after receiving a suspension from Tennis Australia following an incident where another player attempted to fight me during a match situation. Although I was trying to remove myself from the situation, I was still given a code violation that led to a suspension. Combined with a difficult previous season and poor results, it completely disrupted my momentum and confidence.
Despite everything, I’ve worked hard to get myself healthy again, and I’m grateful to now be back training and competing on court. Tennis is something I genuinely love, and I’m determined to give myself a real opportunity to succeed instead of walking away after a tough period.
I am raising funds to travel overseas and compete in a long stretch of ITF tournaments. In professional tennis, short trips are often not enough to build rhythm, confidence, and ranking points. Players need consistent weeks of competition to improve, adjust, and perform at their best. My goal is to compete across multiple tournaments in Asia and other affordable circuits where I can gain matches, rebuild my ranking, and continue developing as a player.
The funds raised will go directly toward flights, accommodation, tournament entry fees, transport, food, training costs, and recovery expenses while overseas. I’ll be travelling on a tight budget and doing everything possible to make the trip affordable, but professional tennis is expensive, especially after months of injury and limited work.
I’m someone who has always worked hard for what I have. Alongside tennis, I’ve worked in hospitality and run my own landscaping and yard maintenance business to support my career. I’m not asking for a handout — I’m asking for help to keep chasing a dream that I’ve dedicated my life to.
Any support, no matter how small, genuinely means a lot to me. It helps give me the chance to get back competing consistently, rebuild my confidence, and prove to myself that this setback won’t define my future.
