Hi, I'm Zane!

I'm 14, I live on the Sunshine Coast, and I'm happiest outdoors and playing sports. I love skiing down the mountains, if I go fast even better!

I have Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), a condition that narrows my field of vision (tunnel vision), so I compete in the vision impaired class. My love with snow sports started snowboarding when I was little, however, since snowboarding does not have a pathway for the vision impaired class, I tried alpine skiing a couple of years ago and I have never looked back! going down the mountains, feeling the speed and the cold air on my face, is the best!

Since the Sunshine Coast doesn't have any snow, I train in Perisher (NSW). I'm proud to be part of Snow Australia's Emerging Talent Program and to be supported by the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) Para Unit in Brisbane.

I'm in Year 9 at school, I also work at a local farmer's market stall on Sundays. I put most of this money towards my training costs.

I dream to one day join the Australian Para Alpine Ski Team, travel overseas to train and race, and hopefully, one day participate at the Winter Paralympic Games representing Australia.

Why I need your help

As a vision impaired skier, I race with a guide who skis ahead of me and calls out directions. Right now my mum is my guide, but she says I'm getting too fast for her and that I will need an "upgrade" soon!

A professional ski guide will be the next step, but at the moment, this fundraising will help cover the costs of:
