Road to roland garros

Hi everyone,

My name is Zayd Joosab. I am 13 years old and I live for tennis. Right now, I’m ranked #1 in Queensland and #4 in Australia for my age group. Internationally, I’ve broken into the Top 50.

I love this game because it’s fun and it makes me happy, but I also love the grind. My journey hasn't always been easy, but staying tough and working with my coaches helped me get to the National Academy and win the 2025 Claycourt Championship in both singles and doubles.

The Big Goal: I want to be a Top 100 pro, play for Australia, and win the French Open. My plan is to hit all four Junior Grand Slams by the time I’m 17 while finishing school.

Why I’m reaching out: As I level up, the world of tennis gets a lot bigger—and a lot more expensive. Between flights for interstate and international tournaments, accommodation, constant restringing, coaching, and physio to keep my body 100%, the costs are a lot for my parents to handle alone. My sister is also an elite athlete and performer, so my parents are constantly "balancing the tightrope" to give us both a shot at our dreams.

Tennis moves fast. Sometimes we have to decide to fly to a tournament only a week in advance to get the right ranking points. Having a "travel fund" would be a game-changer—it would let my team make those quick decisions so I can compete against the best players in the world.

Values Matter: I don’t just want to be a great player; I want to be a good person. Integrity, fairness and kindness mean as much to me as a winning trophy.
