THE AUSTRALIAN SPORTS FOUNDATION (ASF) IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE A NEW STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE (NBL).

The ASF will work closely with the NBL to develop its philanthropic activities. The NBL will primarily focus on strengthening the delivery of community programs to foster strong community engagement, which will enable more people to play basketball, Australia-wide.

The NBL prides itself on the continued growth and community presence across Australia, the ASF will work closely with the league and its clubs to assist them in adopting philanthropy and designing programs to increase engagement in basketball.

“ASF is thrilled to partner with the NBL on their exciting new philanthropic plans, as the pinnacle league for the sport of basketball in Australia,” ASF CEO, Patrick Walker, said.

“The NBL is well positioned to find success in fundraising; as one of the fastest growing participation sports in the country, with visionary leadership, a powerful broadcast reach and a strong, passionate fanbase, we believe that the NBL is primed for success in this space.”

“The NBL joins other major professional leagues who entrust ASF with their fundraising strategy and drive their campaigns through our online platform.”

“The ASF allows donations to sport to be tax-deductible so basketball fans can help their sport continue to grow and develop into the future,” said Walker.

NBL Commissioner, Jeremy Loeliger, is excited to partner with the ASF.

“Our partnership with the ASF will help the NBL forge ahead and build a stronger, more resilient competition at all levels across Australia to unearth and foster the next generation of NBL, NBA, Boomers and Opals talent,” Loeliger said.

“The NBL is excited to work with the ASF to make a meaningful impact in basketball communities.”

Any contribution to the NBL’s programs with the ASF will be tax-deductible.
