LRC Equipment Fund Leichhardt Rowing Club is a community club dedicated to the sport of rowing. Our first Clubhouse was opened by Sir Henry Parkes in 1887. For more than 120 years now we have maintained a strong Club spirit and have grown to become one of the largest rowing Clubs in Australia. We are not associated with any commercial activity and rely wholly on the contributions and generosity of our enthusiastic members and supporters. Rowing is a very inclusive sport that provides long term opportunities for all ages to enjoy healthy outdoor exercise and competition. Elizabeth RUFC Junior Foundation The Club was formed in 1958 by a group of mainly English migrants and a number of Aussies and began playing in the SA Competition in that year. The Founding Members included Stan Wright, John Tobin (after whom the Best Player Trophy is named), Sandy Neild, John Ford and the Reverend Hal Witt (later renowned as the Bishop of the Outback). It is the oldest, continuously operating Sporting Club in Elizabeth, having recently celebrated its 60th Birthday. Our aim at Elizabeth Rugby Union Football Club is to develop Rugby Union in The North and to create an environment where the game can be played and enjoyed by all ages regardless of gender or ability.Our objective is to help children become physically active and learn important life skills about teamwork, leadership and discipline, and skill development. At Elizabeth our aim is to provide rugby for the whole community, to raise individual standards and team results and to achieve excellence. With a renewed focus on juniors over the last five years we now see ourselves running Under 6's through to under 16's with next years goals to include under 18's to give us a full complement of juniors. Eagles Old Boys Foundation The Eagles Old Boys Foundation The Eagles Old Boys Foundation has grown out of the recognition of the need to establish an on-going support mechanism for the Eagles Rugby Club in the pursuit of its objectives both on and off the field now and into the future. The Goals of the Foundation The Foundation aims to provide financial assistance to the Club through: Provide education and employment opportunities for Junior Players Programs to support sustained on-field success including Junior Boys & Girls Rugby, coaching, medical support staff, player welfare and development Supporting community engagement programs to support our local players and the broader Gungahlin Eagles rugby community. Junior National Indoor Volleyball Womens Team 2024 Whilst studying my final year in high school I was successful in being offered a position at the Australian Volleyball Academy in Canberra. So at the age of 17 I finished high school and moved to Canberra on my own to pursue my dreams of playing indoor volleyball for Australia. This was a huge change for me but I took on the challenge and never looked back. My long term goal is to represent my country at the 2032 Olympics in my home town Brisbane and take any opportunity to make this dream possible along the way. I am working towards securing an overseas contract within the next 12 months to enhance and widen my indoor volleyball training, skills and experiences. Being a full time athlete, training 35 plus hours a week and competing most weekends doesn't allow much time for me to earn enough money to help with the costs involved in making my dream a reality. I coach volleyball at the local schools when I can as well as help with tours at the Australian Institute of Sport. I was recently named in the Under 20 Womens Australian Indoor Volleyball squad and with this comes training, uniforms, travel and accomodation costs. Volleyball is currently self funded so to help my family and myself cover the costs I am asking for family, friends and anyone else who would like to support me, to make a tax deductible donation. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and go towards the international competition costs.

There is no better feeling than wearing the Green and Gold, unless it is playing volleyball in Green and Gold. With indoor volleyball being a self funded sport I am asking for some help to be able to compete overseas this year. All  donations are tax deductible and would be greatly appreciated.

In this regard the Maccabi organisation is no different; however, it was founded on the basic premise of Jewish Nationalism through sporting prowess, encapsulated in the words of Max Nordau, co-founder of the World Zionist Organization together with Theodor Herzl, “We will renew our youth in our aging years: We will develop wide chests, strong arms and legs, a brave look. We will be warriors. What is lacking physically, we will develop through exercise. But our recovery to health is not only through the body, but also in the spirit, for as Hebrews will attain more achievements in sport, so will our self-confidence improve. Long lives Sport! Hebrew Sports clubs go forward and bloom” . 1898 Max Nordau Our forefathers realised from the early 1920s the value of sport as a tool in increasing the social interaction of their youth in a Jewish environment. Around the world Jewish spokesmen had proclaimed the value of physical activity in fighting the traditional anti-Semitic view of the Jew as weak and bookish. “It has a symbolic purpose, for behind it has the aim of keeping the Jewish people together and preserving the creed, perpetuating the faith; it is to prevent the regrettable drift that is making many of our people cease from owing allegiance to the religion of their fathers.” Sir John Monash at the opening of the Maccabean Hall 1923 No different to this earlier period, the Maccabi organisation today has a definite agenda to promote Jewish identity and continuity and through our programs provide pathways for athletes to improve their sporting prowess and make friends for life. Maccabi Australia together with its member States and affiliated Clubs is the largest Jewish grass-roots organisation in Australia, boasting a 90-year heritage with 6,500 members ranging in age from 5 to 85 years across 52 clubs. Over the years Maccabi across Australia has been at the centre of developing, hosting and managing events which have provided the community the opportunity to compete and enjoy the connections that sport brings. Every week our members connect and form lifelong friendships via their participation in a Maccabi Club. Opportunities exist for all -from Juniors, through to Open and Masters’ the State based Club structure has been set up to support all ages and all skill levels. The Junior Carnival is hosted each year (on a rotating basis) by one of the State bodies and teams are sent to International competitions including, the Jewish Community Centre (JCC) Games, Pan American Games, European Games, and the pinnacle - the Maccabiah Games. In fact, Australia has been sending a team to the Maccabiah since 1950. Our reach into the community was no more evident than at the 2017 Maccabiah where a team of more than 560 people travelled to Israel competing in over 40 sports - successfully winning 135 medals. With a supporter group whose numbers exceeded the delegation size, close to 10% of Australia’s Jewish population was in Israel in July 2017, closely followed by thousands more on social media. Importantly Maccabi is a Zionist sports organisation and is focused on strengthening its links with Israel and the Jewish community generally. Maccabi Australia is part of Maccabi World Union (MWU) who represent some 500,000 members in over 60 countries. Whatever the nature of the event, a common thread runs through the history of Maccabi’ connection, continuity, friendship and health. Just as sport maintains an important role in society, Maccabi Australia has and will continue to play an intrinsic part of the fabric of the Australian Jewish Community. The dynamics are changing Society is changing, though. Today Australians are watching more sport than ever, but fewer Australians are playing sport and engaging in physical activity. (Aust Govt – Sport 2030 report) Organised sport continues to decline as people look for sporting and physical activities that work around their week. Traditional sports now compete with less organised activities such as yoga, bushwalking, cycling, park runs and the like There has been exponential growth in the use of technology, and inactivity is now the fourth largest cause of chronic conditions in Australia. 56% of adults are living a sedentary lifestyle and only 19% of Australians aged 5- 17 are meeting the recommended activity guidelines. Recognising the emerging changes occurring in society and our Community - foresight and action is required to ensure that Maccabi remains relevant. As such the Maccabi Leadership team across Australia has decided to broaden the organisation’s scope. The four main purposes of the Maccabi Australia Sports Fund are to: assist in the travel and management costs associated with national and international Maccabi Games. Norths Rugby Union Foundation Formed in 1928, North Brisbane Rugby Union Club or Norths Eagles is one of Brisbane’s most historic rugby clubs. We are a community rugby club located in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, with main assets other than our people being our clubhouse and fields at Hugh Courtney Sports Ground at Wavell Heights and our Premier Grade rugby status allowing us to play at the highest level below Super Rugby. Most fundraising goes towards improving those assets, through to coaching programs for the players. The modern economic cycle makes it difficult to undertake capital upgrades to facilities, which is dependent on grants. Old Camberwell Supporter Drive 2024 The Club is pleased to announce the launch of our 2024 Supporter Offering – $50K in ’24! After the resounding success of our ‘Festival of Footy’ across the pandemic-impacted years of 2020 and 2021, we’re hoping to raise $50,000 in supporter revenue in 2024 to allow the club to: · Improve our training and playing facilities, including upgrades to our gym equipment; · Bolster coaching and development resources to give players the best chance for success both on and off-field; · Purchase over 100 new playing uniforms across Senior Men’s and Women’s teams; and · Invest in tools and technology that will help ensure the club is set up for sustainable, long-term success. This year we have also established the exciting new initiative called the Old Camberwell Patrons Club. To ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the club our goal is to build a capital fund, the income from which could be used to cover not only annual operating expenses but capital projects as they arise, such as improvements to facilities and the club gymnasium. With this in mind, we are introducing a Patrons Club. It is envisaged it will consist of a select group of supporters who are willing to commit a minimum of $1,000 to the club each year. Patrons will be listed on the club website with their photos, and recognised and thanked across the year for their generous support. Nik Pender's u23 World championship campaign After many long season's training and racing domestically, boarders are finally open and we are able to travel to compete internationally. I have been lucky enough to be selected to compete in Italy at the under 23 world rowing championships in the BM4+ (coxed four). The campaign is highly intensive and involves training 2-3 times per day and with additional uni requirements it is almost impossible to find time to work. I'm hoping to raise some funds to support my campaign for the green and gold.

Edgewater Lake Field Development The Victorian Youth Polo Academy (VYPA) has worked tirelessly over the past two years to establish Melbourne's first permanent canoe polo facility on Edgewater Lake in Maribyrnong. The field has been installed in its new location, including the relocation of a pontoon by Parks Victoria to the site to help with water access, and the club is now fundraising to install boat storage and changing facilities on-site to allow members to access and use the field and increase the capacity for community programs to run at the field to continue to grow the sport in Melbourne's West. VYPA has partnered with the Australia Sports Foundation (ASF) and is accepting donations, fundraising and sponsorship opportunities from local businesses and individuals. Any donations made through the ASF website are eligible for DGR status and are tax-deductible. With the end of the financial year approaching, we hope that many charitable businesses and individuals who are passionate about kayaking, or just grassroots community sport, may look to support our programs and help us continue to offer opportunities for children and local communities throughout Victoria. The funds raised will go towards purchasing a 40 Foot Storage Container which will house 45 boats for club use and programs while also offering changing facilities and first aid adjacent to the field. Currently, the field is only able to be used by people who have their own equipment or by getting one of our team to drive the trailer of gear down to the field at scheduled times, which puts a lot of strain on our already busy volunteers. The container will allow members of the club to access boats in their own time for training and also greatly reduce the effort required to run programs on the field, allowing our volunteers and coaches to focus on what they do best and not burn them out with hours of loading and transporting boats back and forth. The Victorian Youth Polo Academy (VYPA) is a not-for-profit association established in 2020 and run by volunteers. The academy facilitates grassroots canoe polo programs for local communities within Melbourne and Regional Victoria and since the start of 2021, we have had over 500 people participate in our sessions, many of which have been youth and university-aged players. With your support, we hope to continue to increase our program capacity to involve more people in a fun, social, and alternative sport in all corners of the state.

Isaac Petrie - U20 Ultimate Frisbee World Championships Birmingham UK 2024 I have been playing Ultimate for 7 years. I come from Tasmania where the Ultimate community is small and the youth play in the same league as the adults. It is great to see the sport growing over the recent years. So, this opportunity has been a great chance to play at a high level with other people my age and really learn from them and improve my skills. I am really excited to be able to travel to Birmingham and represent my country with this young team. Any donation that you are able to give would be a great help and really appreciated. I would use any funds raised to directly assist in paying for airfares, accommodation and competition expenses that we need to pay as part of this experience.

I am really excited to have been selected for the Australian U20 team playing  Ultimate, the sport that I love. I would love your support in getting me to Birmingham in July 2024.

We are elite acrobatic gymnast Liam machado and Ellyssa Warden-Hutton and we are fundraising money to help us with our international travels to Portugal in may of this year! We have been named onto the Australian national squad 2023-2024 and have also been selected to represent Australia again in September also in Portugal for the acrobatic World championships which we could not be more thrilled about! Our goal is to fundraise as much as possible to help get us there! This includes helping towards flights, accommodation, coaching levy’s and a few other little things for gymnastics Australia!
