AFL Masters has been invited by the Gaelic Masters Association to send across three Australian Representative teams to tour Ireland in March 2024.

It is proposed that Australia and Ireland will play a two (2) Test International Rules series with the round Gaelic ball. The First Test is scheduled to be played in Galway on Saturday 9 March 2024 and the Second Test a week after in Cavan on Saturday 16 March 2024.

This will be the first ever tour for a representative Australian women’s side with two men’s sides (40s & 50s) also participating. 

Selected players will be required to fund their own overseas flights, accommodation, internal travel within Ireland and playing kit. This is expected to be in the vicinity of $6,000 per player.

With the cost of overseas travel for 2 weeks being a prohibiting factor for many elite players accepting their selection, we are seeking assistance from the broader community to assist these elite players to have the opportunity to represent their country at the highest level possible and inspire others their age across the nation.
