This Development Fund was established by the AMYC Committee to support improved clubhouse facilities, youth training equipment and programs, and increased community interaction.

Our fundraising program will contribute towards the planned extensions to our club building, as well as the purchase of junior training boats and subsidising summer junior training programs.

Clubhouse Upgrade

Our current building is now 55 years old and although it has weathered well, it is in need of major maintenance and an upgrade of facilities. In addition to our increased membership we now have several community groups utilising the club, along with local services, which sees us bursting at the seams during our peak periods. 

For many years now we have been liaising with the relevant authorities to ensure the proposed upgrade meets the required guidelines and regulations. 

From the outset our objective has been to maintain the ‘quaintness’ of the building and to enhance the existing ‘look and feel’ of the building. Internally we will have vastly improved kitchen facilities, new bar area, toilets upstairs and a lift, as well as an upgrade of the downstairs showers and increased storage space for junior training boats, our rescue boat and other summer services (Life Saving Patrol base).
