Remember how fun it was playing sports as a kid? The endless energy, learning new skills and the connection with teammates, crying and cheering together?

Unfortunately, for children who are blind and vision impaired, playing sport is not always easy and this can lead to health issues and feeling isolated. That is why it is so important to develop sport and recreation programs specially tailored for children with vision loss. This could be Aquatics & Swimming, Gymnastics, Tennis, Judo, Rock Climbing or Soccer. These programs are a wonderful way for children to connect with peers who have a similar disability and to be part of a community. It encourages confidence and independence and promotes an active lifestyle.

In order to have an enjoyable and safe activity the children need specially trained coaches, adaptive equipment and the support of sighted volunteers.
