EBC has had considerable on-field success throughout the past decade - not just in terms of premierships, but also in terms of participation, culture and diversity. Of equal importance, off the field the club is blessed with a strong committee, dedicated volunteers and a highly supportive local council. The addition of new facilities in 2018/19 (clubrooms, indoor hitting facility, gymnasium and Chris Lane Field) will confirm EBC’s position at the forefront of club baseball in Australia.

It is vital that the momentum of the past decade is continued. To that end #CL40 has been created to help provide the Club with the long term financial security it needs to achieve its goals across all facets of the club’s activities.

The aim of #CL40 is to raise $20,000 per annum in each of the next five years to help improve the Club's facilities and equipment. Forty members, each contributing $500 a year for five years, equals $100,000 in additional revenue for the Club.

#CL40 income will be shown in the Club’s accounts as a separate line item and expenditure from #CL40 funds will require approval by the sub-committee appointed to administer the group. The sub-committee is currently made up of Richard King, Tim Sullivan and David Calthorpe.

In closing, it would be remiss not to touch on why ‘#CL40’ was chosen as the name for this new initiative. Chris Lane was a much-loved member of EBC; sadly cut down in his prime. In many ways Chris represented the future of our Club - #CL40 will carry Chris’ legacy forward throughout the Club in a positive and meaningful way for many years to come.
