Founded in 1957, Geebung Ski Club has a rich history of providing members and their guests with top-quality accommodation in Thredbo & Perisher with a family-friendly atmosphere. After recent inspections of the lodges utilising member feedback the committee has to come up with a capital works program to ensure that Geebung Members can continue to feel comfortable and proud of the lodges for many years to come. If we fund these works through subscriptions and accommodation fees its could take up to 10 years to complete these works. The Club is seeking to raise extra capital by way of a tax deductible donation so as to expediate these club improvements.

THREDBO LODGE WORKS PROGRAM

The Thredbo lodge was the fourth lodge to be built in Thredbo and is still No 4 on the official plans of the village. As Geebung Thredbo is approaching 40 years old the committee has identified a list of works required to improve the facilitates and maintain the structural integrity of the lodge.

The works proposed include building a new guest toilet and ensuite in the current bathroom on the ground floor adjoining the bunkroom and renovating the lodge managers bathroom. Remedial works, including painting the exterior of the building (including the roof), replacing rotting timber (balustrades/fascia board), installing new double-glazed windows and windowsills. A refresh to the living room is also proposed to be completed with the assistance of an interior designer.

PERISHER LODGE WORKS PROGRAM

At Perisher the committee propose to undertake cosmetic upgrades to all the bedrooms this will include all new bedroom furniture, lighting and painting with the view of redoing the bathrooms in the next 3 years (dependent on fund raising). A refresh to the living room is also proposed at Perisher as the current furniture is at the end of its life. Solar panels are also planned to be installed at both lodges to reduce our annual power costs.

Donations to the Australian Sports Foundation – Geebung Ski Club Development Fund will ensure club facilities can to be enjoyed by the current and future generations of the club. There is no pressure on members or friends to donate but any person who wishes to contribute is encouraged to do so.
