In 1945, a group of lads from Grange formed a baseball team called the Grange Beachcombers and played scratch matches against teams from Welland, Salisbury and Edwardstown. Their uniforms were made by some of the boy’s mothers from surplus grey army singlets.

During the 1945 season the 'Grange' team started playing in the SABL Metro E grade. In 1947, the club changed its name to The Henley & Grange Baseball Club, the name it is known by until this day and goes by the nickname “The Rams”.

The club has built up to be one of the SABL’s leading clubs and achieved success at the highest level in 1995/96 and 1996/97. This success was achieved in part through the junior program dating back to the late 1970’s which saw the commencement of the clubs own primary school competition, which later became the Rams Pee Wee League. The Club prides itself on it junior programme with teams in all grades and a strong culture of development. As a result the Rams have provided numerous state representative players over many years. 

The Club currently fields multiple senior teams, women's teams, junior teams, masters teams and a comprehensive and fun Tball Program.

Funds raised through donations to the Foundation will go towards much needed equipment and facilities improvements, such as 

• bats and balls, 
• helmets, 
• Tball equipment, 
• bases and cones, 
• batting cages, 
• batting turtles, 
• pitching machines and 
• ground maintenance 

just to mention a few things!
