The Highlanders Swimming Club was proudly established in 2021. The Club offers a full range of swimming experiences, from those learning to swim to National / International aspirants and adults. Our young Club has already had much success: In 2023 we had multiple National Finalists and a team member named to the Australian Junior Dolphins squad. Highlanders were also named Swimming WA's "Pathways Program of the Year".  

2024 is off to a good start. The Club progressed to 'A' Grade (Swimming WA) at its first opportunity in February. The recent Nationals campaign was highly successful: 15 swimmers attended, 8 swimmers reached finals, 12 medalists, 1 qualifier for Oceania Championships and 2 qualified for the Junior Pan Pacific Championships competing in Canberra in late August 2024.

The funding will be used for a range of swimmers support programs including:

• Underwater camera system to assist with stroke development and fine tuning. 
• Timing System for club race nights. 
• New team bag storage to allow for improved drying and organisation of swimmers equipment. 
• Pool equipment including chocks for backstroke starts and starting system to mimic the sound used at State and National Competitions.
• Events and specialist clinics (such as Peak Performance), signage and promotions/marketing.
• Support for coaching at events where travel is required.
