HOOKIN2HOCKEY – GIVE EVERY KID A GO

Hookin2Hockey is Australia's national junior grassroots hockey program. It provides children with the opportunity to learn the basic necessary hockey skills, develop fundamental motor skills and make friends all while beginning their love of hockey.

OUR SPORTING PRIDE

Hookin2Hockey delivers opportunities for children to experience moments that will last with them long after they first pick up a hockey stick. The sense of pride after achieving that first successful pass, hitting the ball into the back of the goal, even just running onto the pitch and experiencing everything that is great about hockey.

OUR IMPACT

We believe Hookin2Hockey will introduce new players to a game that provides fun, friendship and a lifelong love of an iconic Olympic sport. The opportunity to engage in physical activity in a safe environment should be available to all Australian children regardless of location, financial situation, gender or ethnicity.

The new Hookin2Hockey model provides flexibility and an affordable opportunity for kids to be physically active. For young children, Hookin2Hockey gets them involved in a local sporting club, allows them to make friends and develop social skills, and provides their family with community engagement.

Hookin2Hockey can create healthier, happier, more resilient and connected communities.

OUR AMBITION

As hockey’s national junior program, we aim to put more hockey sticks in children's hands and take Hookin2Hockey to more schools than ever before.

With our recently revamped and enhanced structure, we aim to reach 60,000 children by 2025. To achieve this target Hockey Australia needs to support its local associations, clubs, schools and volunteers to assist in the delivery and facilitation of the Hookin2Hockey Program.

Donations of all denominations are welcomed and warmly received. Examples of where your donation could go include:

• $48 for a participant pack (includes a stick, ball, shin pads and mouthguard).
• $70 for a child to try hockey in an 8-week Hookin2Hockey program.
• $250 for a Hookin2Hockey coach to mentor community volunteers.
• $600 for a Hookin2Hockey delivery pack to be donated to a local community program, assisting 30 disadvantaged children take part in their first Hookin2Hockey clinic.
