With a strong focus on teamwork, speed, skill and strength, hockey has been thrilling Olympic audiences since 1908. As the State Sporting Association for hockey in Western Australia (WA), Hockey WA provides opportunities for people of all ages to participate in the sport of hockey throughout the State. This is achieved by working with WA’s nine regional hockey associations and the clubs located in the Perth metropolitan area. As it is home to some of the best facilities in Australia and indeed the world, Hockey WA is in a very unique position. Furthermore, as both Australian national teams - the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos - are based in Perth, these world-class and often Olympic athletes are integrated into Hockey WA’s local competition, making it arguably the best regional hockey competition on Earth. In terms of pedigree and achievements, there are very few other sports that can rival Hockey WA on the national and international stage.
