At Kiwi Hawthorn Rugby Club, we’re all about having fun, making new friends and enjoying the great game of Rugby Union. We are the only rugby club that is a combination of two of the great powerhouses of world rugby: New Zealand and Australia. New Zealand servicemen formed the Kiwi Club in 1923, while the Old Scotch Rugby Club was started in the 1930s by old boys of the school. Old Scotch later became known as the Hawthorn Rugby Club and merged with the Kiwi Club in 1987 to become the Kiwi Hawthorn Rugby Club. Our club is a proud celebration of the close ties that have long existed between Australia and New Zealand. Our Senior Mens, Womens, Masters and Junior teams warmly welcome all nationalities that now make up the multicultural world rugby community.

Our Club's overarching goal is to grow the number of people playing rugby in all its forms in Australia.

We are fundraising for specific programs that help support this goal, including contributing to the cost of:

• the purchase of training and match day equipment;
• travel, which for our senior mens teams in particular, includes games throughout regional Victoria;
• high performance programs for senior players involving specialist strength and conditioning coaches and skills coaches;
• come & try rugby programs for juniors and senior women;
• improving the safety and quality of our playing fields; and
• providing clean and modern change facilities for male and female players.
