Koonwarra / Leongatha RSL Cricket Club is a small, but very passionate sporting club that is not only investing in its playing group, but the community infrastructure.

Over the past few years we have been focusing on the continued development of our women’s playing group, together with 5-12 year olds. We continue to field our A, B & C Grade sides, together with our junior Cricket Blasters, Under 11, 13, 15 & 17’s teams. 

Due to the development of the game, our facility is not inclusive to the junior and senior users (both female and male), spectators and the community as a whole. In the past 2 years, the facility has been burgled upwards of 10 times (this year our 2 mowers and irrigation system were stolen). We have been flooded over 5 times and leaks (mould) in the ceiling. The facility is not in a great position on the reserve, it is dangerous for kids to get to and from.

We would like to rectify this. 

We would like to build a new multipurpose facility for the entire community to use. This facility would include a large multipurpose room, kitchen/bar area, changeroom facility x 2, toilet and showers, umpire and first aid room, plus a new public toilet.

These facilities will not only be used by cricket clubs, but schools, community groups and the public (via private functions). Due to the proximity to the Great Southern Rail Trail which runs past the reserve, it’s a popular destination and stopover for trail users. The redevelopment of the multipurpose facility will provide the small community of Koonwarra with fantastic infrastructure for many years to come. 

All donations are tax deductible and will be held in our Infrastructure Fund, whilst we are working towards obtaining joint funding from Council and ACIF.

Any contribution that can be made would be very much appreciated and will contribute to this multipurpose facility.
