The Stribling Reserve Community Asset Committee has overseen the construction of a fully accessible double storey building on the site of the old single storey structure, providing space and amenities for broad community use and enjoyment. Construction marks the final step of a $6.5 million Stribling Reserve Pavilions Redevelopment, which has resulted from a partnership between community members, the Australian Government and Surf Coast Shire.

Stribling Reserve is Lorne’s major open space recreation facility, with key user groups including the Lorne P-12 College, Lorne Football Netball Club (LFNC), Lorne Men’s Shed and the local community.

We have successfully raised a considerable sum through the generosity of the extended community of Lorne.

We now have a new fundraising initiative

How would you like to have a space on the benches on the viewing terraces at Stribling Reserve named after you or whomever you choose? Well, you now have that opportunity!

The project budget for the new Community Pavilion only had sufficient funding for seating on one of the three bays on the viewing terraces overlooking the oval. The Committee would like to have these works completed with seating in the other two terraces because so far this season, this has proved to be a very popular viewing location.

We are still waiting on the first bay of seating to be installed but it will look like the seating in the attached image.

The Committee would like to purchase similar seating for the other two bays of the terraces, and we propose to achieve this through a fundraising campaign. Through a donation of $500 which is tax deductible, you can purchase a spot on the benches which will carry a plaque recognising you as a donor. You can purchase more than one if you wish and have the opportunity to put on the plaque whatever name or dedication you wish.

When you make your donation to name a spot on the bench, we will be in contact with you to ensure we get the right wording for your plaque/s. There will be a limited number of spaces available so we hope that you will take this opportunity sooner rather than later. The sooner we can raise the funds, the sooner we can add the additional seating.Through Lorne Sport's fundraising partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, donations to this vital community project are tax deductible. So please show your support by donating today!
