The Melbourne Ice Women play in The Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League which is the premier national women’s league run by Ice Hockey Australia. There are five teams in this competition which runs from November through to March each season. AWIHL games are played in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

The costs to play in this league and compete across the country are very high when you take into account flights, accommodation, ice time, on ice and off ice uniforms and all other associated costs. The women love playing this sport and it would be amazing to take away the financial burden and just allowing them to play elite female hockey in Australia.

This year the player costs exceed $3500 per player. To reduce these costs will help the club field the best team they possibly can and help drive development allowing the junior squad to practice with the team.
