About the project
This year the Monbulk Cricket Club (MCC) marks its 125th year and to celebrate the occasion has commissioned a book charting the club’s history since 1897. A book launch is being planned for Sunday November 20th, to coincide with a match against Seville cricket club, against whom Monbulk played its first ever recorded match on this day 125 years ago.
Titled “125 Not Out - A History of the Monbulk Cricket Club 1897 – 2022” the book is being written by Greg Hardy, a former MCC player, president and life member.
To assist with the design, publishing and printing costs we are seeking sponsors and donors willing to help. Grants and donations are also being sought from a range of individuals and organisations including state and local government, local businesses, life members, past players and supporters. We would greatly value your donation and offer the following benefits:-
· $50 or more – Name acknowledgement in the book (listed in alphabetical order and amounts not published)
· $150 or more – Name acknowledgement in the book plus a complimentary softcover copy (including postage if necessary).
· $350 or more – Name acknowledgement or company logo printed in the book plus a hardcover copy (including postage if necessary).
Please contact either Paul Utting on 0425 725 254 and firstname.lastname@example.org or Chris Defina on 0475 436 460 with your pledge.
To ensure we can finalise the book we need all pledges to be made by Saturday 14th of May and monies paid by 31st May.
Since 1897 over 900 players have represented the MCC, which has been an important and successful club in the Mountain District Cricket Association and, since 1959/60, the Ferntree Gully and District Cricket Association.
This book will be a valuable addition to the history of the Monbulk community and any contribution you can make to its publication would be greatly appreciated.
